A reflection of artist Nipan Oranniwesna’s own eye-opening re-evaluation of his 2015 journey crossing the Thai-Myanmar border, "Neither Body Nor Soul" uses the imagery of borders to discuss the relationships of tangibles and intangibles between the two cultures.
Despite being a consistently and widely exhibiting artist, "Neither Body Nor Soul" marks Nipan's first solo exhibition since "Speechless" in 2012 at 100 Tonson Gallery, Bangkok—all the more reason to stop by for a look. Simultaneously, he is also showing works at MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum in Chiang Mai right now in a group show titled "DIASPORA: Exit, Exile, and Exodus of Southeast Asia".
Nipan is an award-winning Thai visual artist with a career spanning over 30 years now and is currently a professor at the department of visual art in Bangkok University’s School of Fine and Applied Arts.
"Neither Body Nor Soul" is available for viewing from today until May 13, 2018 at Nova Contemporary gallery. The official opening of this exhibition will take place later this month on March 23 with an artist talk. For inquiries, contact 09-0910-6863 or info@novacontemporary.com.
